Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Nick Caamano Has Hot Start In OHL

Nick Caamano got off to a very hot start in the OHL with the Flint Firebirds. It is early in the season but Caamano is tied first in point scoring in the OHL.

He had seven points through the first three games with two goals and five assists.

In his opening game Caamano had three points, a goal and two assists, as the Firebirds shut out the Saginaw Spirit 4-0. He finished second star of the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

In his second game of the week on Friday Caamano added a pair of assists as the Firebirds lost 4-2. Highlights of the game can be found here.

He’d add another goal and an assist during a 2-0 win against the Owen Sound Attack.

Chris Martenet is currently at the Dallas Stars’ training camp and has not been in action.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson has played one game for HV71 so far this season. He finished pointless and played less than ten minutes in the game.

John Nyberg played two games for Frolunda this week and finished pointless in both games. He’s averaging around 15 minutes of ice time.

Fredrik Karlstrom continues to have a good start to the season. He added another three points to his totals and is at a point per game pace.

He had an assist during on an equal strength goal during a 5-1 win against IF Bjorkloven on Tuesday.

On Friday he added another goal and an assist during a 3-1 win against Timra.

Karlstrom is currently fifth in scoring in the Allsvenska.

After finishing with four points through four games last week, Jakob Stenqvist has had a quieter week. He finished pointless through three games. He has four points in seven games.

Finland

Aleksi Makela finished pointless in one game with Assat this week in the Finnish Liiga. He played only three minutes in the game and it appears he was benched for

Roope Hintz is injured and has not started the season in the Liiga.

Miro Karjalainen is back in action in the Finnish Juniors and has had three points, a goal and two assists, through five games for HIFK J20.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic, who was playing in the USHL last season, is now playing in the top Slovak league for HC Nove Zamky. He currently has a single goal in seven games.
