Dallas Stars Daily Links: Tyler Seguin Can Have a Better 2017-18 Just By Staying Healthy

When one of your team’s star players is one of the best natural centers in the NHL, you spend the entire summer thinking about ways he could be better, probably. Dallas Stars fans seem to think this way about Tyler Seguin, or maybe they really are afraid the Ken Hitchcock Style will chew him up and spit him out.

Mike Heika of The Dallas Morning News offered his own take on Seguin’s biggest area of potential improvement during his Sept. 4 chat, and it’s not even about his play:

Where do you think Tyler Seguin needs to improve the most as a player?

Heika: Having been around Seguin for several years now, I’ve noticed he is very good at addressing areas of need and improving himself. He was rough at faceoffs when he got here and he now is a 55-percent guy.

Honestly, the big challenge for Seguin is to be healthy enough to play in important games. Injuries have kept him out of key stretch runs, key playoff games, and even the World Cup of Hockey. We still don’t know how he will step up when the pressure is really on. That might be the thing that he most needs to prove, and he can only do that by staying healthy and getting to the playoffs.
