Traverse City Tournament: Stars Roster, Schedule, How To Watch
The Stars are once again heading to the Traverse City Tournament, which showcases some team’s prospects prior to training camp.
The Dallas Stars will once again compete in the Traverse Center Tournament, which competes for the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup (named after the late founder of CapGeek, who passed away in 2015 from colon cancer). The tournament features eight NHL teams across two divisions:
Gordie Howe Division: Ted Lindsay Division:
Chicago Blackhawks Columbus Blue Jackets
Detroit Red Wings Dallas Stars
St. Louis Blues Minnesota Wild
Toronto Maple Leafs New York Rangers
In the 20 years since inception of the tournament, the Stars have won it just once, back in 2008. The feature player on that squad? Current captain Jamie Benn, who scored five goals in four games.
Roster
The Stars will bring some of their biggest names in the prospect system, including Jason Robertson, Riley Tufte, and Ty Dellandrea at forward, John Nyberg and Ben Gleason on defense, and goaltenders Jake Oettinger and Colton Point. Oettinger and Point should be competing with one another this season for an AHL job alongside Landon Bow. Here’s the full list of prospects the Stars are taking to Michigan:
