OHL
Remi Elie had an incredibly impressive game against the Kingston Frontenacs with a seven-point game. He got three goals and four assists in the 9-6 win on Sunday. He was named first star of the game. He was not on the ice for any of Kingston’s goals.
Jason Dickinson has played only one game since Christmas, and he extended his point streak to four games. He scored a goal in a 5-2 win over the Erie Otters on Sunday. His goal was a powerplay goal early in the second period.
Radek Faksa has been on WJC duties for the Czech Republic and therefore has not played any games for the Kitchener Rangers this week. His defensive play was key in their shootout win over Canada on Saturday.
Nick Paul only played a single game with the North Bay Battalion this week. He went pointless against the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday and finished with a minus-1 rating.
Gemel Smith played two games for the Owen Sound Attack in the last week and had five points through two games. He had two goals and two assists during a 6-2 win over the Niagara IceDogs. He was named first star of the game for his efforts. He added an assist on the game tying game during a 3-2 shootout win over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday. He scored his shootout attempt.
Cody Payne has played only a single game this week, a 6-5 loss to the Windsor Spitfire. He had a game misconduct six minutes into the game for leaving the bench to fight Ty Bilcke.
WHL
Mike Winther was traded within the WHL when the WHL roster freeze finished on the 29th. He was traded from the Prince Albert Raiders to the Calgary Hitmen. The Hitmen are currently top of the Eastern Conference of the WHL.
Cole Ully has played a total of two games since Christmas and finished pointless throughout. He was a collective minus-five across those two games.
Dmitry Sinitsyn played two games since Christmas and had a single goal against the Brandon Wheat Kings. The goal was the sixth Regina goal during an 8-4 drumming of the Wheat Kings.
Branden Troock continues to play well for the Seattle Thunderbirds and has now got 42 points in 36 games. The goal came during a 4-3 overtime loss on Saturday.
QMJHL
Troy Vance played two games this week for the Charlottetown Islanders and went pointless through those two games. He finished with a minus-2 rating over the two games.
Philippe Desrosiers played only a single game for the Rimouski Oceanic this week. It was a 5-4 overtime loss to the Quebec Remparts. He saved 24 of 29 shots.
Maxime Lagace played a single game for Shawinigan, a 5-0 loss to the Victoriaville Tigres. He saved 31 of the 26 shots he faced as they were shut out.
USHL
Matej Paulovic played in his first game for the Muskegon Lumberjacks this week and finished with two assists. It came during a 5-3 win.
NCAA
Devin Shore had three points over two games this week for the University of Maine. He got two assists in a 4-0 win over Princeton. He also had their lone goal in relegation against Cornell during a 1-1 tie, which they lost in the shootout. He would score the Black Bears lone goal in the nine-round skills competition.
Alex Guptill went pointless through his team’s two games this week. He also finished an even plus-minus. This is despite losing one game 3-2 and the other 3-0 against Michigan State.
Sweden
After being cut from the WJC roster for Sweden, Ludwig Bystrom played only a single game for Farjestad this week. He played just under 10 minutes on the ice and finished pointless.
John Klingberg had a single goal in two games this week. The goal came during a 6-1 win over Skelleftea on Thursday. He went pointless in their overtime loss to Brynas on Saturday.
Both Niklas Hansson and Emil Molin played for Rogle this week in their 5-4 win over IK Oskarshamn. Molin went pointless and Hansson had an assist.
Finland
Austin Smith got his first goal in Finland this week against Ilves in a 5-3 loss on Friday. He is playing on Assats’ top line.
Henri Kiviaho backed up both games for KalPa this week.
Esa Lindell is on international duty at the WJC for Finland and did not play for Jokerit.
