Gameday Preview: Dallas Stars @ St. Louis Blues

What: Dallas @ St. Louis
When: 7:00 p.m. CDT
Where: Scottrade Center
Radio: KMOX 1120 AM

After an off day, the Dallas Stars return to the ice for their third pre-season game in four nights as they travel to the Gateway City to take on one of the surprising teams from last season, the St. Louis Blues.

The Stars will be looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche Thursday night against a Blues squad that romped to a 6-2 win last night at home against Colorado to improve to 2-0 in the pre-season.

Follow the jump for a few notes for the game tonight:

Logo_dallas_stars_mediumYour projected starting lineup per Mark Stepneski and Mike Heika.

J. Neal-Richards-Eriksson
Ott-Wandell-Benn
Barch-Peters-Sawada
Sutherby-Petersen-Lindgren

Skrastins-Fortunas
Fistric-Larsen
Woywitka-Stafford

Turco
Krahn

Extras: Korostin, Jancevski

Logo_dallas_stars_mediumWe also learn from Mark’s Friday practice report that Marty Turco will return between the pipes tonight and will be backed up by Brett Krahn (aka KRAHN! and Wrath of Krahn by Brad)

Logo_dallas_stars_mediumYou’ll remember from Thursday’s preview, the Stars were trying out Maxime Fortunus as a right wing on the fourth line. As you can tell from the projected lineups, he’ll be paired on the top line with Karlis Skrastins and should get significant ice time tonight.

Logo_dallas_stars_mediumAlso pay close attention if James Neal is out on the ice in the offensive zone in the closing seconds of a period. If the second year player finds himself with an open shot in such a situation, expect him to shoot.

Because his coach certainly will. Again, from Mark’s Friday practice update at ADSP.

“That last minute you can’t give up chances, you want to take chances,” Crawford said.
