Its been another busy week in the juniors for Dallas Stars prospects throughout the world. There have been goals aplenty for Dallas Stars prospects.
In the OHL its been a busy weekend with Radek Faksa and Gemel Smith playing three games in three days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Brett Ritchie also had a big week with three games in the past four days.
Radek Faksa finished the week with a single assist in three games with the Kitchener Rangers going 2-1-0. They appear to have recovered from a poor start to the season and are dragging themselves up the Midwest division standings.
Brett Ritchie this week finished the week with a goal and assist. He scored both a goal and an assist during the Niagara IceDogs game agains the Sault Ste. Marie. The highlights can be seen here, he earned second star honours during this game.
Gemel Smith also finished the week with two goals and two assists during three games this week. He faced off against fellow Stars prospect Radek Faksa on Friday which was eventually decided by a shootout. Gemel Smith continues to impress and is effectively putting up points for Owen Sound Attack.
In the WHL Matej Stransky’s Saskatoon Blades didn’t play a single game this week and therefore didn’t put up any points. Brendan Troock also missed all the Seattle Thunderbirds games this week due to an upper body injury suffered after a boarding late last week.
Mike Winther scored three goals in the past two games, though he got the hat trick against the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday. Highlights of the game can be found here. After his hat trick on Saturday he earned first star honours.
In the QMJHL Troy Vance scored his first goal this season against Acadie-Bathurst. His goal was the game winning goal in overtime.
Emil Molin was sent down to the J20 this week and during four games scored a goal and an assist. In some ways its good that Emil Molin is getting ice time but it would be better to have the tougher opponents of the Elitserien.
Ludwig Bystrom has lost his spot on the third pairing in Modo. He is getting about 7 minutes a game of ice time. He is however using it scoring Modo’s lone goal on Saturday in their 4-1 loss.
Esa Lindell was recalled to Jokerit and played 10 minutes this week, but will likely split his time between the two teams.
Jyrki Jokipakka went pointless this week and continues to play about 24 minutes of ice time for IIves this week. They continue to be at the bottom of the SM-Liiga however.
There are lots of goals in the NCAA this week as Alex Guptill scored two goals and an assist over two games this week. Both Scott Winkler and Curtis Mckenzie scored goals as well this week. Both Devin Shore and Dmitry Sinitsyn went pointless this week.
