Last year, the Dallas Stars opened their home schedule in the Vegas Golden Knight’s first ever NHL regular season game.
This year, they will open their 41 regular season home game schedule against the Arizona Coyotes. The matchup will be on Thursday, October 4th at 7:30 PM at the American Airlines Center. The team announced the opener on Twitter with a NHL 2018-style video game video:

The rest of the league announced their home openers as well. The Washington Capitals will raise their Stanley Cup championship banner at home when they take on the opening night of the season Wednesday, October 3rd versus the Boston Bruins. They’ll then take on the Pittsburgh Penguins the very next night for their home opener.

Though, based on these openers, it does appear that Dallas won’t be opening on a back-to-back to start as has been popular in seasons past, so that’s something at least.
