Mike Modano to Join Stars Reunion Night Festivities

Would it even have been a proper 25th anniversary celebration without the Hall of Famer Mike Modano returning to Dallas? To put it simply, I think not.

The Dallas Stars announced today that Mike Modano will join in on the Reunion Night celebration on March 31 at American Airlines Center for the season finale against the Minnesota Wild as part of the Fan Appreciation Night festivities. Modano will be signing autographs in the AAC concourse by Section 101 during the first intermission, and will take part in the the ceremonial puck drop prior to the start of the game.

Modano has been a fan favorite since he was drafted in 1988 by the Minnesota North Stars, and one of the few players to see both eras for the Stars until his retirement from the league in 2011. It’s only right that the seven-time NHL All-Star and Hall of Fame inductee should be honored at the final meeting this season between Dallas and Minnesota. Modano remains the Stars’ franchise leader in goals (557), assists (802), and points (1,359). He will join the many Stars legends that the team has brought in during their 25th anniversary celebration this season.

Modano helped lead the Stars to two consecutive Stanley Cup appearances in both 1997-1998 and 1998-1999, and finally claimed the most coveted trophy in hockey by leading the team to victory during the 1999 playoffs. The events on March 31 this year to honor Modano are just another star in his already-shining legacy. Fans can look forward to seeing him in Dallas when the Stars take on the Wild at the conclusion of the regular season. So if you haven’t already done so, grab your tickets now and head down to the AAC to see not only Mike Modano, but help cheer on the Stars in their push for the playoffs.
