Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Enter the All-Star Break on a Sour Note

Well that could have gone better. I didn’t input much of my personal thoughts on the Dallas Stars – Toronto Maple Leafs game in the recap, but let’s just say I was not very happy. Also I really, really hate backup goalies.

Every NHL team played in a game last night (well except for the Kings that is, since odd number and whatnot), which means I have a lot of score updates for you:

  • Rookie Alex DeBrincat scored a hat trick as the Chicago Blackhawks crushed the Detroit Red Wings 5-1. [Second City Hockey]
  • Meanwhile the Minnesota Wild were on the other end of a lopsided score, falling 6-3 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. [Hockey Wilderness]
  • The Nashville Predators had much better luck, shutting out the New Jersey Devils 3-0. [On the Forecheck]
  • The Winnipeg Jets and the Anaheim Ducks meanwhile went to overtime, where the Ducks won 4-3 in the shootout. [Anaheim Calling]
  • And finally, in the only matchup between rivals, the St. Louis Blues prevailed 3-1 over the Colorado Avalanche. [Mile High Hockey]/

Speaking of the Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon is getting a lot of Hart Trophy love, but he’s far from the only breakout star recently:
