The Victory Green Gang made the most of Frozen Frenzy with a 4-1 W in Pittsburgh.

The Dallas Stars are back home, and they’re bringing two more points with them. Last night’s 4-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins not only kick-started Jason Robertson’s offensive campaign, it showcased Jake Oettinger at his dominant best. So what are we talking about today….

Are you reading David Castillo’s Substack? You should be. His post on last night’s Stars win is both salty and informative.

If you’re as interested as Dave is in hockey data, you might be excited about the NHL’s new player- and puck-tracking portal. Michael Russo walks you through it, and quant king Dom Luszczyszyn offers a preliminary review.

In On The #Kill Taker

There was plenty of #MurderDeathKill Division action on tap thanks to last night’s Frozen Frenzy – that blue-moon phenomenon in which all 32 NHL teams played on the same day:

  • The Colorado Avalanche won a record-setting 15th consecutive road game – this time beating the New York Islanders, 7-4. [Puck Yeti]
  • Connor Bedard getting a goal called back set an unfortunate tone for the Chicago Blackhawks as they got blanked by the Boston Bruins, 3-0. [Second City Hockey]
  • In Central-on-Central violence, the Winnipeg Jets scored twice in 18 seconds to gain their margin of victory over the St. Louis Blues, 4-2. [NHL]
  • Ryan Hartman tallied a hat trick as the Minnesota Wild handed the Edmonton Oilers yet another L, 7-4. [NHL]
  • The Nashville Predators came up short in shots on goal as they lost a close one to the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2. [NHL]
  • And the Arizona Coyotes’ win streak ended at two as they gave the Los Angeles Kings their first home victory of the season, 6-3. [NHL]

And while we’re talking about the Central, hold a good thought for former Stars and current Jets coach Rick Bowness and his wife, Judy.

Finally

We can never forget that Jamie Benn was a two-sport athlete. Never ever. Enjoy.
