It was a mixed bag last night as far as the Western Conference playoff race is concerned:

  • The St. Louis Blues gave themselves a four point cushion over Dallas for third in the division with a 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings. [Winging it in Motown]
  • Meanwhile the Chicago Blackhawks’ hopes of a late-season playoff push took a hit with a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. [Broad Street Hockey]
  • Finally, the Arizona Coyotes are dangerously close of falling out of a playoff spot after losing 4-2 to the Florida Panthers. [NHL]/
