Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Fall Flat Against Avalanche
At least it wasn’t a shutout? Plus, Ty Dellandrea made his professional debut, an update to the Western Conference playoff race, and more.
Well that wasn’t much fun, was it?
Let’s just jump straight into the highlights so we can be done talking about last nights loss to the Colorado Avalanche. First up is Tyler Seguin finally snapping his goal-scoring drought:

And, uhh, that’s pretty much it. Breaking news: the Dallas Stars have a scoring problem. At least their goaltending is legit?

Speaking of whom, here’s Bishop — and his sweet hat — on the loss:

Here’s what Jim Montgomery had to say:
"We're playing a good brand of hockey. We're going to end up on the right side of the scoresheet most of the time if we keep playing this way." pic.twitter.com/yl6ku3oAW8

More Stars News
Ty Dellandrea made his professional debut on Wednesday with the Texas Stars. As someone who saw him in person, he was pretty electrifying:
Stars first-round pick Ty Dellandrea played in his first AHL game last night, and @seanshapiro was there. He tells you all about how Dellandrea looked, breaks down the Joseph Cecconi signing and adds many more notes from Cedar Park.https://t.co/pyv5jMrmV9

Here’s a look at just what Texas is getting from Dellandrea as they make their final playoff push:

This isn’t exactly Stars specific, but a certain 2016-17 team ended up #3 on this list...

Wild Wild West
It was a mixed bag last night as far as the Western Conference playoff race is concerned:
- The St. Louis Blues gave themselves a four point cushion over Dallas for third in the division with a 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings. [Winging it in Motown]
- Meanwhile the Chicago Blackhawks’ hopes of a late-season playoff push took a hit with a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. [Broad Street Hockey]
- Finally, the Arizona Coyotes are dangerously close of falling out of a playoff spot after losing 4-2 to the Florida Panthers. [NHL]/
Here’s a nice look at the Coyotes’ reason for hope heading forward, goaltender Darcy Kuemper:
Darcy Kuemper has been Arizona's MVP this season, but his biggest job is keeping the Coyotes in a wild-card spot as the season winds down. https://t.co/8djkQ6EHuA

Are you happy with what you see here? If yes, do I need to redirect you to the HNIC video about late season collapses?!?
Around the League
Look, I’m not saying this is Jim Lites-level bad, but it’s still a bad soundbite from the Edmonton Oilers CEO:

While Dallas fans have become infatuated with Miro Heiskanen, fellow rookie defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is also having quite the season:
Rasmus Dahlin is having one of the best seasons ever by an 18-year-old defenseman in the NHL, living up to his draft hype early in his career.https://t.co/Vgec7JeCbQ

Speaking of young defenseman, here’s a nice story on Colorado prospect Cale Makar, who was picked one spot after Heiskanen in the 2017 NHL Draft:

Finally, the final two weeks of the season are almost upon us, and DownGoesBrown is here to remind you that not all nights are created equally:
New post: There are 17 nights left on the NHL schedule, and you can't watch everything. I'm here to break down which nights are can't-miss, and which ones give you a chance to pretend to like your family instead. https://t.co/zLMdcF2Gax pic.twitter.com/ULQXA5ITe4
