Dallas Stars Daily Links: Make That Seven

The Dallas Stars entered the third period last night leading the Boston Bruins 2-0 before giving up three goals and losing the game 3-2. Unlike the Toronto and Ottawa games, where the Stars also blew a third-period lead, the team did not even get a point out of the game, as a last-minute goal by Boston led to a regulation loss.

In many ways, the game was representative of the Stars’ season thus far; the team was never dominating, but slowly built up to a good score before collapsing spectacularly at the very end. The Stars have now lost seven games straight, and now have a 5.2% chance at making the postseason, according to sportsclubstats.com.

It was relatively quiet around the league last night, although two Central rivals took to the ice:

  • The Winnipeg Jets managed to beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2, but weren’t kind enough to do it in regulation, giving Anaheim a point.
  • Meanwhile, the St. Louis Blues are now just a point out of the eighth wild-card spot, thanks to a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. [NHL]/
