VIDEO: NHL Should Kill The Trapezoid To Progress Hockey Forward

On this episode of Defending Big D TV I discuss the current talks about changing rules in order to “slow down the game” as the NHL attempts to respond to the dangerous hits leading to injuries to star players across the NHL. There has been discussion about reinstating the red line to cut down on the speed through the neutral zone and it seems the NHL is serious about instituting “hybrid icing” in order to cut down on the dangerous hits that could result from a race to the puck.

In this video, I discuss how if the NHL is serious about making hockey safer for star players — which means, in theory, slowing down the forecheck — then killing the trapezoid is the obvious choice.

Let us know how you feel about the proposed rule changes in the comments and be sure to subscribe to our channel for more videos.
