Hockey in Dallas Stars jerseys worn by Dallas Stars players will take place today. It’s just too bad we won’t get to see it.
The Traverse City Prospects Tournament gets underway this afternoon with the Stars facing off against the St. Louis Blues. Hockey Prospectus ranked the Blues’ system as the league’s worst this summer, saying Ty Rattie and Dmitrij Jaskin represent potential but there’s a severe drop-off after that. St. Louis did not have a pick until #47 in this year’s draft, and selected just four times overall.
Mark Stepneski reported this morning that Jack Campbell will get the start in net for Dallas, with Philippe Desrosiers getting game 2 and Maxime Lagace starting game 3. Campbell should finish it up in the finale.
Maxime Lagace, if you’ll recall, was signed by the Stars in late July. He played for the Prince Edward Island Rocket of the QMJHL last season and attended the Dallas Stars Development Camp earlier this summer, earning himself an entry level contract after evidently impressing Mike Valley.

The most exciting names on which to keep an eye are also the biggest ones out there. We’ve been talking about it for years around draft time but it’s interesting to see all the size coming together at once.
