NHL Suspends Dallas Stars’ Ryan Garbutt Two Games for Trip on Taylor Hall

The NHL announced Thursday afternoon that Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt has been suspended two games for an illegal trip on Edmonton Oiler Taylor Hall Tuesday night at American Airlines Center.

Garbutt was assessed a two-minute minor on the play. Taylor Hall was uninjured, collecting his own penalty 11 seconds into tho Oiler power play. Garbutt is a repeat offender, having faced fines and suspensions last season.

This was not a surprise to the Stars, evidently, who were practicing appropriately before the hearing took place…

So it seems Colton Sceviour could see an expanded role against a good Minnesota team tomorrow night, but it’s not hard to see Travis Moen or Vern Fiddler moved up should the situation need tweaking, and with coach Ruff that’s always a possibility.

You may now resume watching football and just generally trying to avoid awkward social situations with extended family.
