Injury Updates, Winter Classic Merchandise, And Other Stars Odds and Ends

The Dallas Stars are back in town after a very successful road trip in Canada.

After losing in overtime to the Winnipeg Jets last Sunday afternoon, the Stars rattled off three wins — against the Calgary Flames, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Edmonton Oilers. The team has one of the hottest recent records in the Western Conference and have dug themselves out of the 1-7-1 hole that looked poised to sink the postseason chances of the club before the season had really ever gotten going.

In that time, the Stars have had a number of injuries to contend with. While the returns of Blake Comeau, Roman Polak, and Andrej Sekera have helped with depth (particularly on the back end), it’s been greatly overshadowed by those injuries that have occurred simultaneously.

Mattias Janmark has missed the past three games with a lower-body injury (it’s been a very popular ailment hitting the Stars of late). However, reports out of practice today indicate that he may return to the lineup tomorrow night when the Vancouver Canucks come to town.

Roope Hintz (lower body) and John Klingberg (lower body) have missed the last five and four games, respectively. They’re both expected to be out for the next week or so, meaning they’ll miss at least another four or five games, depending on when they’re back. The Stars play the next four games at home – Tuesday versus Vancouver, Thursday (Winnipeg Jets), Saturday (Chicago Blackhawks), and Monday (Vegas Golden Knights) – before traveling to Chicago next Tuesday night prior to a short Thanksgiving break.

Fanatics is the official partner of the NHL, producing replica jerseys and other merchandise for the league’s teams and marquee events every season. Though the authentic jerseys have been more difficult to come by as inventory sold out in pre-sales, this is a good option to get yourself geared up for the big game if you don’t live in town — or if you’re looking for a player/size that isn’t available now in the authentic versions.

I’ve personally seen the replica and the authentic in person, and can attest that it’s tough to tell the difference between the two at first glance.
