Today, we are happy to announce that Defending Big D has joined For Hockey Fans, the first vertical launched by For Fans Sports Network, a media company created to provide fans with the content they want about their favorite teams and sports. We are so happy to be going on this journey together with some really amazing people we’ve worked with before, and are excited to be bringing you this news today.

We appreciate the support you showed our site when we had to find a new home, and the patience you have shown even more recently as we took steps to get ready for today before we could publicly say what it is that we were doing. The season will get underway in just a few short weeks, and we are excited for puck drop. As we go forward we will continue to look for ways to bring you the content you crave, and provide a community for people who are as passionate about the Dallas Stars as you are.

So what does this mean for you? Well, not much has actually changed! You’ll notice a new coat of paint, an upgrade in the comments section functionality, and (hopefully) faster load times on the pages. What you won’t see but we hope will be able to benefit everyone is more customization for the community, more opportunities to utilize some of our new business partners to bring you exciting podcast guests, more merchandise options, and more ways for us to make money and be able to pay our content contributors and keep the site free of annoying ads.

We would greatly appreciate you visiting the network’s homepage and familiarizing yourself with the sites that will be covering hockey this year — it encompasses all 32 NHL teams with more hockey coverage to be added in the coming months. Share this news with your friends and let them know where they can find their hockey community, especially here in Dallas where there is just so much less coverage after a summer that saw many people leave for other beats.

We’ll be here all season long. Come join us!
