Stars Host The Blues At Home Tonight

The Dallas Stars are coming off of a messy road trip where they captured two of six total points. Their only win came against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night behind a two-goal effort by Tyler Seguin. The road games continue to be a problem for the Stars and thankfully, they will be playing their next six games at home. The home stand begins tonight with a quick rematch against the St. Louis Blues. The Stars have been a force on home ice, currently the fifth best home team in the league, so these next six games will be pivotal in maintaining their playoff position and creating separation.

The Blues will begin their four-game road trip against the Stars tonight after coming off a 4-1 win at home against the Montreal Canadians. Although this hasn’t been the season the Blues have expected, they aren’t completely lifeless. They are currently 4-4-0 since Christmas and are second in the league in scoring chances. The Blues also announced that forwards Robert Thomas and Tyler Bozak will not be making the road trip due to injuries.

Nine of the Blues’ next 10 games will be away from home. In their last seven away games, the Blues were 5-2-0 and the team ranks fourth in the NHL with a 2.60 road goals against average and a .917 road save percentage.

Keep An Eye On:

  • Stars’ depth scoring. The depth core has not scored a goal in 2019 so far.
  • Jason Spezza and Patrick Maroon both have zero points in their last five games. One, or both, are due.
  • The Blues penalty kill. They have allowed seven power play goals against since Christmas, which is ranked 29th in the league.
  • David Perron. He is currently sitting on a career-best nine-game point streak (four goals, eight assists)./
