Dallas Stars Recall Forward Tomas Vincour From AHL

After last night’s loss to the San Jose Sharks (which we’ll have more on later today) it was obvious that some change needs to be made. The Stars played better and competed hard yet it was apparent that some spark was missing and that frustrations were beginning to run disastrously high.

One way to assist in adding that spark is to shake up the lineup a bit and perhaps infuse the team with new energy. While one player certainly won’t be enough to completely turn everything around on his own, some sort of change is definitely necessary to stop the bleeding and get the Stars back on the right track.

The Dallas Stars announced this morning that Tomas Vincour has been recalled from the AHL, although the exact reasoning for the callup has not been made clear. Perhaps the Stars are indeed trying to infuse some new energy into the roster or perhaps there will be some lingering effects from the events of the final minutes of the game last night.

Whatever the case, it’s apparent that the plan of to “keep charging forward and stay the course” has not worked and change needed to be made. I’d expect to see Philip Larsen on the ice on Monday night as well as seeing Vincour playing as well, if for no other reason than to try something different and see what happens.

Vincour has played exceptionally well with the Texas Stars this season, scoring 10 goals and 13 points in 15 games and has proven to be one of the better even strength players on the team. He’s been pushing for more playing time at the NHL level and perhaps this is another chance for him to not only show his high level of energetic play but also prove he’s found the ability to put the puck in the net again.
