Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Swedish Prospects Have Excellent Week

NOTE: This update was written before Sunday evening’s games.

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Nick Caamano played two games with the Flint Firebirds this week and finished pointless through both of them.

He has 24 points in 20 games.

Chris Martenet returned to action for the London Knights this week. He finished pointless through two games. He has only played seven games this season for the Knights.

WHL

Ondrej Vala played two games for the Kamloops Blazers this week, he finished pointless through both games.

He has nine points in 22 games this season.

NCAA

Mike Prapavessis only played one game for RPI this week despite the Engineers having two games on the schedule. He finished a minus 3 in a 5-2 loss to Clarkson and was benched for their game against St Lawrence.

He was one of three prominent RPI players who didn’t touch the ice for the game.

RPI have only won two games this season.

Joseph Cecconi went pointless as Michigan split a pair of games against Boston University this weekend. He played on Michigan’s second defensive pairing.

Rhett Gardner had a single assist this week for North Dakota. He got the primary powerplay assist as North Dakota lost 3-2 to Denver.

In a 1-1 tie against Denver on Friday Gardner took an interference penalty as well as a ten minute misconduct penalty. In the ensuring powerplay Denver scored and tied up the game.

Reily Tufte finished pointless through two games for Minnesota Duluth. He is playing on their third line.

Colton Point has still not touched the ice for Colgate. He has only played 64 minutes of hockey this season.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson had an good week in the SHL, he finished with two points in two games for HV71, doubling his points total for the season

He got a goal and an assist as HV71 beat Vaxjo in the shootout. Hansson did only play 13 minutes in the game however.

John Nyberg also had a productive week and finished with two assists through two games. He had one assist in a 4-3 loss to Djurgarden on Thursday and had another assist in a 3-0 win against Karlskrona on Saturday.

Fredrik Karlstrom played one game for AIK this week in the Allsvenska and finished with a single goal.

He scored the opening goal, his fifth of the season, as AIK lost 4-3 to MODO.

Jakob Stenqvist hasn’t registered a point in the Allsvenska yet this season but it is good to see that he is staying up in the adult leagues. He played two games this week for MODO.

Finland

Roope Hintz played two games in the Liiga this week and finished with a single assist.

He got the assist on HIFK’s lone goal during a 3-1 loss to KalPa on Friday.

Aleksi Makela played two games for Assat this week and finished pointless through both of them. He has yet to register a point this season.

He averaged 15 minutes of ice time.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic played one game this week and finished pointless.
