Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Stars Swedish Prospects Have A Good Week

The Stars Swedish prospects have all registered at least a point in the last week and have done reasonably well in their individual circumstances.

OHL

After his hot start with the Belleville Bulls, Remi Elie has cooled off, going pointless in the Bulls last two games. He finished a minus-2 over those two games.

Radek Faksa had a trio of points in two games for the Kitchener Rangers. He had a goal and two assists through those two games. Two of those points came during the Rangers 3-2 overtime win over the London Knights. Faksa scored the tying goal and assisted on the goal that would give the Rangers the win in OT.

Nick Paul went pointless through two contests this week for North Bay. He also finished with a minus-3 rating over those two games.

Matej Paulovic also went pointless through two games for the Petes this week. He did finish with an equal plus-minus rating.

Jason Dickinson played three games this week and had a single assist. It came during the Storm’s 7-3 win on Sunday evening.

Gemel Smith scored three goals this week for Owen Sound and put him tied for the top in number of goals scored in the OHL. He was third star of the game during Owen Sound’s 5-4 OT win over the Kingston Frontenacs. He got two goals in that game.

Cody Payne continues to not appear on the score sheet, going pointless over two games for the Saginaw Spirit.

WHL

Branden Troock had a good week with the Thunderbirds. He scored a goal and an assist over three games for Seattle. They did lose two of those three games, however.

Cole Ully had a busy week playing four games for the Kamloops Blazers. He finished the week with a goal and three assists over those four games. He also finished a plus-1.

Dmitry Sinitsyn had a single assist for the Regina Pats in their three games this week. It came during a 4-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors. His assist came on the game-winning powerplay goal.

Mike Winther returned to action for the Prince Albert Raiders following an injury. He got a single assist in their 3-2 shootout win over the Edmonton Oil Kings. He went pointless in their 4-3 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors.

QMJHL

Both goaltenders in the QMJHL had forgettable weeks. Maxime Lagace played only 40 minutes of the single game he played this week. He let in 3 goals on 15 shots. He finished with a 0.800 save percentage. He didn’t suit up for their game against Val-d’Or for unknown reasons.

Desrosiers played two games for Rimouski, but both games were losses. He let in 5 goals in the first and four in the third. He finished with an overall 0.855 save percentage through those two games. However his third game, a 2-1 win, he finished with a .931 save percentage.

Troy Vance, on the other hand, had an excellent week for the Charlottetown Islanders. He had three assists in two games, both wins. He earned second star honors during their 3-0 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

NCAA

Alex Guptill has been back in action with the Michigan Wolverines and had a goal during their second game of the week on Saturday.

Devin Shore continues to go pointless for the University of Maine. They played only a single game this week.

Sweden

Its been a productive week in Sweden with every one of the Stars prospects recording points.

Emil Molin played two games and had a single assist. He still isn’t getting a lot of ice time. In one of those games. he was on the ice for a grand total of three minutes, the other one just over 5 minutes.

John Klingberg got a goal and an assist over two games for Frolunda, helping them to two wins out of two this week.

Ludwig Bystrom has started getting some big minutes on Farjestad’s second defensive pairing. Both games he played this week he was on the ice for over 20 minutes. He had a single assist and finished a plus-2.

Niklas Hansson, playing in the J20, played three games this week. He had a goal, two assists and an impressive plus-5.

Finland

Henri Kiviaho continues to be the backup in KalPa, and Aleksi Makela continues to be out with injury. The Mesitis website has yet to update Esa Lindell’s stats.
