Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Nicholas Caamano And Mike Prapavessis Have Good Weeks

NOTE: This prospect update was written before Sunday evening’s games.

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Nicholas Caamano played three games for the Flint Firebirds in the OHL and finished with four points.

He had two goals and two assist through the four game stretch.

Caamano got a goal and an assist during a 5-2 loss to the London Knights last Sunday.

He would add another assist during a 3-1 win against Sudbury on Friday and scored Flint’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to Barrie on Saturday.

Caamano has 33 points in 31 games this season.

Chris Martenet played two games with the London Knights and finished pointless through both games.

He has two points in 18 games so far this season.

WHL

Ondrej Vala played two games this week for the Kamloops Blazers and finished pointless through both games.

Vala has 13 points through 31 games.

NCAA

Michael Prapavessis had an excellent week in the NCAA, finishing with three points in two games for the RPI Engineers.

Prapavessis finished with a goal and a pair of assists in two losses.

He got an assist in a 7-3 loss to Yale on Friday and would get a goal, on the powerplay, and an assist as RPI lost 6-3 on Saturday to Brown.

Prapavessis now has eight points in 17 games for the RPI Engineers.

Joseph Cecconi played two games for Michigan this week and finished pointless in both games.

He played on their second and third defensive pairings. Cecconi has a single points through 16 games this season.

In a pair of games against Western Michigan, Rhett Gardner finished with a pair of assists.

On Friday, Gardner had an assist on a powerplay goal in a 5-1 win and would get another assist in a 3-1 win on Saturday.

Gardner has nine points in 16 games this season for North Dakota.

Riley Tufte had a pair of games for Minnesota Duluth this week and finished pointless through both of them.

He remains on their third forward line.

Colton Point did not play for Colgate this week.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson played two games this week for HV71 and finished pointless through both games. He has seven points in 25 games this season.

He averaged 17 minutes of ice time through the two games he played.

Through two games with Frolunda, John Nyberg finished pointless. He has seven points in 24 games this season.

He averaged 19 minutes of ice time through the two games.

Fredrik Karlstrom only played one game for AIK in the Allsvenska this week. He went pointless in the game.

Last week I had said that Karlstrom hadn’t made the Sweden World Junior Championship preliminary roster – he in fact had made it onto that roster.

Jakob Stenqvist also played just the one game in the Allsvenska this week. He finished pointless in the game.

Finland

Roope Hintz played in two games this week and finished with a pair of goals for HIFK.

He scored both goals during a 4-1 win against Ilves on Wednesday. Hintz got the game winning goal on the powerplay and would add another goal minutes afterwards.

Aleksi Makela played two games for Assat this week and finished pointless through both.

He averaged 14 minutes of ice time in each of the two games.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic played three games in Slovakia and finished with two goals and three assists.
