How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.
North America Juniors and NCAA
OHL
Remi Elie played three games this week and finished pointless through all of them. The Bulls lost two of their three games, winning only once in a 3-1 win on Saturday against the Erie Otters. They were outscored 13-7 through those three games.
Jason Dickinson had five points for the Guelph Storm through three games this week. He had a goal and an assist on Thursday in a 5-4OT win against the North Bay Battalion. He assisted on Robby Fabbri's powerplay goal in the first period and would score himself less than half way through the first period. Highlights of the game can be found here.
He'd add a pair of goals and an assist on Friday during a 5-3 win against the Sudbury Wolves. He scored what would be the game winner late in the first period and would assist on the Storm's fifth goal nearly 15 minutes into the third period.
Aaron Haydon played three games with the Niagara IceDogs and finished with a goal and a plus six rating through those games. He scored his goal during a 9-2 defeat of the Belleville Bulls on Thursday and finished with a plus five rating overall. Highlights of that game can be found here.
Brent Moran only played one of the games this week for the IceDogs. He played on Sunday against the North Bay Battalion in a 4-2 loss. He saved 20 of the 23 shots he faced, a 0.870SVS%.
Patrick Sanvido played three games with the Windsor Spitfires and finished with a single assist, his fourth of the season. He assisted on the third Spitfires goal 13 minutes into the first period.
WHL
Brett Pollock had his seven game point streak broken at Prince Albert on Tuesday. He played a total of four games this week and finished with two points, a goal and an assist.
He scored a goal in a 4-1 defeat of the Swift Current Broncos. He opened the scoring ten seconds into the game and was named third star of the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.
He would add another assist in the Oil Kings 3-2OT loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday. He assisted on the opening goal of the game just over half way into the first period. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Cole Ully had two points in three games this week for the Kamloops Blazers. He assisted on the Blazers only goal in a 2-1 loss to the Everett Silvertips on Wednesday. Highlights of the game can be found here.
He followed this up with an assist in the Blazers 7-3 loss to the Regina Pats on Friday. He had the secondary assist on the last goal of the game. Highlights can be found here.
QMJHL
Philippe Desrosiers started one game and came in relief in another. He came into a game on Friday after the first period against Chicoutimi. He played the final two periods saving all of the shots that he faced. The Rimouski Oceanic would win that game 5-3.
He'd start against Quebec on Sunday and would back stop the Oceanic to a 3-2OT win. He let in two goals on 23 shots, a 0.913SVS%.
USHL
Matej Paulovic had a single point, an assist, through three games this week. He had an assist in a 2-1 win against Dubuque.
NCAA
Devin Shore finished pointless through two games for Maine this week, both losses. They'd lose the pair of games collectively 10-4 against Vermont. I'm not sure what is happening with Maine or Shore at the moment but they definitely aren't performing as well as I had expected. Shore's statistics aren't showing the step forward I'd have expected in what could be his final year of NCAA hockey.
Mike Prapavessis played three games this week with RPI and went pointless through those three games. RPI lost a pair of games to Michigan but won against New Hampshire 2-1. He is still on their top defensive pairing.
Europe
Sweden
Ludwig Bystrom played three games with Farjestad this week. He averaged around 18 minutes of ice time overall over those three games. He finished with a goal and an assist, both during Farjestad's 2-1 win against Orebro on Saturday. It was his first goal of the year and his second assist.
Emil Molin and Niklas Hansson played three games this week for Rogle. Molin went pointless but Niklas Hansson had a single assist. Hansson averaged around 19 minutes per game and Emil Molin averaged around 10 minutes of ice time.
John Nyberg played two games with Frolunda J20 and had a single goal. He scored during their 2-1 loss to Linkoping.
Finland
Esa Lindell played two games this week for Assat and finished with a single assist. His assist came during a 4-1 win against Ilves. He averaged 25 minutes of ice time over those two games.
Aleksi Makela played three games with Ilves this week and went pointless through all three. He averaged just over 14 minutes of ice time as he dropped down the defensive pairings.
Update:
Miro Karjalainen returned to action after an extended period of absence due to illness. He played just under 10 minutes in HIFK J20's 2-1 win against Ilves J20. He had a single assist as their seventh defenseman. I missed this game on the initial publishing of this report.
Russia
Dmitry Sinitsyn played two games this week for Dynamo Moscow. He finished pointless and averaged just under 18 minutes of ice time per game.
