Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Dickinson, Paul To Face Off In OHL Finals

OHL

Both Nick Paul (North Bay Battalion) and Jason Dickinson (Guelph Storm) advanced to the OHL Finals.

North Bay have had everything come together for them in the post season and they swept their Western Conference rivals in four games. They finished the job off this week with two wins against the Oshawa Generals on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday North Bay won 5-3 and Paul had a single assist in the game. He also finished with a plus two rating in that game. On Wednesday it was a closer affair with the final score being 3-2. Paul assisted on two of North Bay’s three goals. He was named second star of the game after his two point performance. He has 14 points through 17 playoff games, nine goals and five assists.

It took five games for the Guelph Storm to dispatch the Erie Otters in the Eastern Conference finals. They played three games this week.

The first game on Monday finished 7-1 with Dickinson having a single assist in the game. He was pointless in their sole lose of the series, a 5-2 loss on Tuesday. He finished with a minus two rating. The final game of the series on Friday saw the Storm blank the Otters 5-0 with Dickinson finishing with a single assist on a short handed goal.

The OHL Finals start on the 1st of May and with two Dallas Stars prospects facing off against each other it means there are guaranteed to be two Stars prospects in the Memorial Cup Tournament. Gemel Smith and the London Knights are hosting the tournament and automatically have a place despite losing in the second round to the Guelph Storm.

Sweden

Reports out of the Swedish media earlier this month, which I missed, said that Emil Molin was one of several players re-signed by Rogle. He has signed a two year contract with the Allsvenskan club and therefore will not be moving to North America next season.

I’m not certain but I believe his contract will no longer slide and will count against the 50 contract limit.
