Dallas Stars Place Chris Mueller, Dustin Jeffrey on Waivers- Appear Set to Join Texas Stars

The Dallas Stars may have been eliminated from playoff contention last night, but the season will go on for a select few as the Texas Stars get set for what they hope is a deep run in the AHL’s Calder Cup playoffs.

Dustin Jeffrey and Chris Mueller were placed on waivers this morning by Dallas and should be set to re-join the AHL team soon. Also eligible to play is Colton Sceviour, who probably won’t be put on waivers because he would almost certainly be claimed.

The real intrigue surrounds Patrik Nemeth, who is waiver exempt. He figures to be a part of Dallas’ future and may be kept through the proper exit interviews tomorrow before – one would assume – being sent down to help out for their stretch run. Or it’s equally likely the injury sustained in game four carries with it the recommendation to be done for the year from the doctors. We’ll see.

Overtime was not kind to Dallas last night but for Texas it’s been a different story. Goals from Brendan Ranford and Mike Hedden on Oklahoma City over the weekend, both in overtime, have Texas up two games to none on the Barons with the series shifting to Cedar Park for gamess three, four, and five (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday).

If you have the means to get down there for a game, and my wife will let me your wife will let you, I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is pretty choice.

Here are some highlights from Texas’ game one win in OKC from the Barons and the Stars.
