Unfortunately, my attempts at using advanced coding has failed and the script I was using to attempt and track the statistics for all the prospects has failed. Since I don’t have time this week to go and find them all individually, unfortunately I’m not going to be able to have that feature available this week. I’ll do my best to find a better solution for the future, however.
We do have some interesting notes on some of the prospects this week, before we get into the rankings for the month of November.
* Austin Smith, who plays for Colgate, is off to a great start this season with 7 goals and 11 points in just seven games this season. He’s third in the nation overall in goal scoring and is tied for fourth in the nation in overall scoring. He has had a bit of a up and down career so far but this season it looks like he’s finally putting it all together.
* After a great start to the season, Reilly Smith is struggling. Teams are able to focus on Smith with so much of the Miami team being younger and inexperienced and he’s having trouble overcoming the attention. Curtis McKenzie has just one goal and one point in eight games and the Redhawks are struggling to start the season, 2-6-0 so far.
* The Windsor Spitfires are on a 0-5-0-1 freefall after a great start to the season, and Jack Campbell lost the only game he appeared in last week. His numbers are now a much more pedestrian 3.13 GAA and .906 save percentage; it’s going to be interesting to see how he and the team respond to this slump.

* Jamieson Oleksiak and Brett Ritchie are off to a good start so far, with both being selected to Team OHL in the upcoming 2011 SUBWAY Super Series. According to ESPN Dallas, this is a tournament between Canadian-born players taking on a team from Russia.
*Oleksiak so far has 4 goals and 6 points in 16 games for the Saginaw Spirit and all indications are that he’s more than on track for his progression and development as a number one defenseman.
* Matej Stransky continues to put up big numbers for Saskatoon, with 7 goals and 15 points in just 13 games so far. After struggling to get used on North American hockey last season, it’s apparent that Stransky is getting more and more comfortable and is turning into yet another late-round find by the Stars.
* Scott Glennie has no points through six games with the Texas Stars.
* Finally, some frustrating news as John Klingberg has been demoted from from the top league in Finland and is now playing with Kiekko-Vantaa in the 2nd-highest league in Finland. He had just two points with Jokerit in ten games.
Without further ado, here are the prospect rankings for the month of November. We have a bit of hockey this season to base the rankings on, with Matt Fraser making a big push up the rankings with his great play down in Austin. Once again, these rankings are based in large part upon current performance weighed with overall potential — expect the individual rankings to change significantly from month to month.
Matt Fraser finds his way into the top ten but it’s Matej Stransky who has the biggest jump, from 20th to 7th for this month’s rankings. Campbell finds himself out of the top spot as Philip Larsen is showing maturity and production in Austin in what should be his final full season before the NHL.
