With the Dallas Stars searching for something, anything that could give them enough of a boost to get them out of a five-game slide, coach Glen Gulutzan is now turning to the youngsters.
Tomas Vincour, who arrived in Dallas on Sunday, and defenseman Philip Larsen, who was called up several days ago but has not played in this NHL stint, will both be in the lineup today against the Edmonton Oilers at the AAC as the Stars try to feed off of their energy.
“They’ll bring youthful energy,” said Gulutzan, who coached both players with Texas of the AHL last season. “I know both those guys very well and I think they can help. We’re at this point of the season where whatever it takes to make us better, we’re going to do.”
The team didn’t practice Sunday, doing off-ice work and going over game film instead, so who they would replace in the lineup is unclear at this point. But maybe, hopefully, it will finally be the move to break through this epic drought.
