Last night, the Washington Capitals were down 3-2 entering the third period against the Vegas Golden Knights. As the period went on, it seemed that maybe Vegas would snap their three-game losing streak and live to fight another day.
Then, about halfway into the third, this happened:

Then this:

Congrats to Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on their Stanley Cup victory. Also congratulations are in order for the Vegas Golden Knights. Even if they didn’t win it all, what they did this season was nothing short of magical. We can’t wait to see what these teams have in store for next season.
Dallas Stars News
On a much less exciting note, the Texas Stars also played last night, evening up their series against the Toronto Marlies:

Around the League
Everyone knows where Rasmus Dahlin is going in the draft, but that’s not stopping him from enjoying the process. [Sportsnet]
The Buffalo Sabres aren’t the only ones who know who they’re picking. It appears the Carolina Hurricanes have zeroed in on their target as well:
“If I was going to the draft floor tonight to make the pick, I’d be picking Andrei.”https://t.co/vW5ZUpV3PE

Speaking of the Canes, should the Dallas Stars try to add Jeff Skinner? According to Jared Clinton, apparently everyone should. [The Hockey News]
Down Goes Brown debated whether or not Vegas should boo commissioner Gary Bettman (they did) in his latest Grab Bag. [Vice Sports]
Finally, they say hockey is the ultimate team sport, and a big reason for that is how the players speak:
Ever since I began covering the NHL, I noticed hockey players hate talking about themselves. Many don’t even use the pronoun ‘I.’ So I asked a bunch of guys why. https://t.co/3sdegu5Jby
