Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Lose to Lightning 6-3

The Stars’s final road game of the season ended in a loss, as the Lightning picked up a 6-3 victory.

The Stars had the chance once again to be a spoiler on Sunday, one night after unofficially ending the late-season run of the Carolina Hurricanes. A Dallas victory may have been the final nail in the Lightning season as well.

But two goals called back—Gemel Smith’s second of the game was ruled offside, and Tyler Seguin’s third-period tally was a high stick—helped the Lightning prevail and stay in the playoff hunt.

Lindy Ruff shared his frustration with the game’s officiating.

“Can somebody explain to me on their second goal how our guy goes to get the puck and their guy runs him over,” Ruff asked. “There’s no interference? How does their guy not get a penalty on the second goal for running over Smith when we are going for the puck?

The loss also meant the team’s road record tied for a dubious honor.
