Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Break Another Jinx

Stars fans had to worry when the Canucks score the first goal of the game on their first shot, But Esa Lindell had his 1st NHL goal twice in the 2-1 win. Lindell playing in only his 17th NHL game, scored what he thought was his 1st goal, only for it to be determined that it went in off Radek Faksa. Minutes later he made the 2nd one count off a nice pass from Jamie Benn.

It feels good,” said Lindell, who scored from the left circle midway  through the second period to give the Stars a 2-1 lead that would hold  up the rest of the game.

Lindell had a little over 21 minutes of ice time with 3 blocked shots and an assist. Antii Niemi stopped 30 of 31 shots.

He was strong,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “A goal and an assist and I  just thought he played a big man’s game down low. He was strong on the  body and won a lot of battles. The release on both goals, I don’t think  we score unless he releases it that quick, so I thought Esa did a real  nice job for us. (Stars Inside Edge)
