Dallas Stars Daily Links: Rich Peverley’s New Role

Former Dallas Stars player Rich Peverley was recently promoted within the organization from Player Development Coordinator to Director of Player Personnel. With the new title comes new responsibilities, such as working closer with General Manager Jim Nill makes:

“He’s my eyes and ears out there,” Nill said. “I’m down in Dallas and I don’t get an opportunity all the time to get out there and see games anymore. My job now is to manage people and he now is my eyes and ears out there. When we make a decision on a trade, make a decision on signing a free agent, he’s going to have major input in that.”

While Peverley had enjoyed his development role, he has been looking forward to a new challenge and to expand his role in the organization. More than anything, he wants to help the Stars take home the Stanley Cup:

“When I finished my hockey career, I was lucky enough to win a Stanley Cup, but I always felt my career was cut short at 31,” Peverley said. “Having tasted the winning, I just really want to get back and hopefully have another chance at winning a Stanley Cup and being a part of a team that achieves that together.”
