Patrick Eaves, who recently arrived back in Dallas, is eager for the season to start. The forward talked with Mark Stepneski about his offseason, the “sour taste” the end of last year left, and his optimism for 2016-17.
Eaves was an unrestricted free agent, but was determined to return to Dallas for a third season.
… “It’s a special group of guys that is fun to be out there with every day. I took that into great consideration. We have a great coaching staff, and it goes right up through management. I think something special is going on here, and I want to be part of it.”
Eaves also gave a glowing review of the Stars’ newest defenseman, Dan Hamhuis.
“I knew he was good, but I didn’t know he was this good,” Eaves said. “You really see how good he is when you are on the same team and see him every day, day in and day out. I have been very impressed this week. Holy smokes. I knew he was tough to play against, played a lot against him in Detroit and it’s huge for our team to get him.”
