Alexander Radulov is a shooting star, a breath of fresh air, an international bon vivant…and, as it turns out, a banana fiend.
He’s the only one who actually consumes them on the bench, as Sean Shapiro points out in a new feature. There’s a very simple reason why:
“You got to eat, you know?” Radulov said. “I just don’t eat much before the game. You start playing and the games are late and you kind of get starving.”
“Just have a bite and leave it there, and when you want it more, you have more,” Radulov added. “Simple.”
Every Star has his own quick-energy favorite, from Esa Lindell’s power bars to Marc Methot’s espresso:
“…I’m usually eating before the third period, try to get some simple sugars in me,” [Jason] Spezza said. “Guys go bananas if they are hungry. Because a banana can kind of fill you up, it’s one that is used more frequently.”
There’s much more under the paywall. [The Athletic DFW]
Stars Stuff
Sean brings you more from last night’s 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in a new 20/20.
That’s three straight! The Stars beat Edmonton 4-1 tonight, spoiling Ken Hitchcock’s return to Dallas. @seanshapiro tells you all about it, and catches you up on quite a bit on a fully-loaded Stars 20-20. https://t.co/eBivllIVvJ

Did Anton Khudobin get an assist on the Lindell empty-net shorty (!) that finished the game? You be the judge.
Calculated.

And best wishes to John Klingberg and brother Carl, who should make a complete recovery after fracturing his neck playing for EV Zug.
I feel good under the circumstances and I’m at home since yesterday. Thank you everyone who reached out and for all the “get well wishes”. pic.twitter.com/6hpk8hKBKB

Around the League(s)
It was a relatively quiet night in #Death, but the Nashville Predators got their groove back with a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. [On The Forecheck]
Loss in Dallas or not, Hitch hockey seems to be working for the Oilers.
Edmonton has taken nine of a possible dozen points since Ken Hitchcock’s hiring. Has the veteran bench boss fixed all that ails the Oilers?More from @THNJaredClinton:https://t.co/4Cqe3ixWm5

Dan Rosen recaps the issues as the Seattle NHL expansion vote looms. The realignment will be especially interesting for the #MDK. [NHL]
Tied to the vote on Seattle expansion tomorrow is a re-alignment to make way for Seattle to join, meaning the Central Division will get one more team. There was nothing official on what that re-alignment calls for from Gary Bettman or Bill Daly today.
