Dallas Stars Daily Links: How The Stars Stay Energized

Alexander Radulov is a shooting star, a breath of fresh air, an international bon vivant…and, as it turns out, a banana fiend.

He’s the only one who actually consumes them on the bench, as Sean Shapiro points out in a new feature. There’s a very simple reason why:

“You got to eat, you know?” Radulov said. “I just don’t eat much before the game. You start playing and the games are late and you kind of get starving.”

“Just have a bite and leave it there, and when you want it more, you have more,” Radulov added. “Simple.”

Every Star has his own quick-energy favorite, from Esa Lindell’s power bars to Marc Methot’s espresso:

“…I’m usually eating before the third period, try to get some simple sugars in me,” [Jason] Spezza said. “Guys go bananas if they are hungry. Because a banana can kind of fill you up, it’s one that is used more frequently.”

Sean brings you more from last night’s 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in a new 20/20.

Did Anton Khudobin get an assist on the Lindell empty-net shorty (!) that finished the game? You be the judge.

Speaking of Dobby, his new Sylvie Marsolais helmet has a white background, but the same house elf.

Saad Yousuf brings the latest Martin Hanzal update:

Don’t forget to vote Victory Green. The 2019 NHL All-Star Game is closer than you think.

And best wishes to John Klingberg and brother Carl, who should make a complete recovery after fracturing his neck playing for EV Zug.
