Dallas Stars Daily Links: Radulov Likely To Miss Stars-Ducks Contest Tonight

The Dallas Stars have already defeated the Anaheim Ducks in the AAC this season, and tonight – we hope – they’re coming back for more. But tonight, they’ll have to get the win without Alexander Radulov, who was still suffering from an unspecified lower-body injury as of yesterday’s optional practice in Frisco.

Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to Mark Stepneski about Rads’ absence from the lineup as pretty much a foregone conclusion:

“We’ll assess it (Thursday), but he’s there for now,” Montgomery said. “The most important thing is we need 14 ([Jamie] Benn) and 91 ([Tyler] Seguin) to get back on the scoresheet, and we need them to start possessing pucks a lot more. So, who is going to be able to help provide that?”

Other injured Stars are in similarly iffy situations – including Valeri Nichushkin, whose status could be a game-time decision. There’s also Stephen Johns, who worked a full practice without headaches and may be ready for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, but who is still taking it one day at a time:

“The intensity of the game, the lights, the music — all those things,” Montgomery said. “Today, he said there was a shot off the crossbar, he was standing at the red line, and the ping of the crossbar hurt his ears. He is going through things that are hard for me to understand because I’ve never experienced it. You could see the wincing and the grimace on his face when it happened.”
