Dallas Stars Daily Links: The Stars’ Superlative List
Best shot, best-dressed, best (and worst) taste in music...the Stars go full yearbook in a players’ poll. Plus, what happened at the Toews-Keith practice fight, Jason Robertson reflects on his season to date, and more.
NHL All-Star Weekend is nearly here — and as the league celebrates the best of the best, it’s only natural that the Dallas Stars would celebrate their own version of Senior Superlatives.
Sean Shapiro and Saad Yousuf polled a dozen players to put together enough Stars Bests and Worsts to fill a yearbook section. If you’ve been paying attention, you won’t be surprised at who won Best Taste in Music:
We had a feeling this would be the result of the poll. Blake Comeau has control of the auxiliary [cord] in the Stars locker room, and there is a reason that no one has challenged him for it in the past two seasons.
Comeau gets credit from his teammates for the variety and finding a good mix. One player said if you don’t like one song, you’ll likely dig the next one.
“He does a great job, the best I’ve ever seen in my career.”
Meanwhile, there’s been a shake-up at the top of the Best Dressed list:
Roope Hintz was something of a surprise winner, considering Tyler Seguin was voted the fifth-best dressed player in the NHL by the league-wide NHLPA player poll during the 2018-19 season.
It turns out Seguin apparently isn’t tops in his own locker room at this point.
Of the 12 ballots cast, Seguin only received two half-votes, with Klingberg and Benn getting the other half vote on those two ballots.
There’s more behind the paywall. [The Athletic DFW]

So what are we to make of the weird “brother fight” between Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith during practice?
A skirmish went down at optional morning skate between Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews.

After practice, Toews chalked it up to "just a little friendly wrestling" and Jeremy Colliton smiled and asked if anyone had brother. #Blackhawks @fox32news @foxkickoff pic.twitter.com/VCuisKeyrt

Brandon Manning threw a racial slur against Boko Imama during a game that took place on MLK Day, so...there’s that, too.
