Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Trying to Find Answers

The Dallas Stars were riding the yellow laces on a winning streak, beating the Colorado Avalanche 7-2 for their fifth straight win. But before they knew it, they had suddenly dropped three in a row, and now the locker room has been forced to look inwards for the cause of their recent troubles.

“It starts with me,” (Captain Jamie) Benn said.

“It’s humbling looking in the mirror,” (Tyler) Seguin said. “If I look at myself the last few games going against the big dogs, I wasn’t big enough. So I’ve got to be a lot better.”

The Stars look to turn their luck around tonight against the New York Rangers, who currently sit 1 point out of a playoff spot (though with two games in hand). Maybe you think the game isn’t as important since it’s against an Eastern conference team, but in the words of Jason Spezza:

“You have to stop your losing streaks as quickly as you can in this league. This league doesn’t forgive teams that aren’t playing well. You have to find your game and regroup as quick as possible.”

In much better news from that night, Jason Dickinson scored twice to propel the Texas Stars over the Ontario Reign [100 Degree Hockey].

Dickinson was recalled the next day from Cedar Park, and he and Julius Honka should both be in the lineup tonight:

Three out of the four games last night involved Central teams, with mixed results for the Stars:

  • The St. Louis Blues beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2, though they needed overtime to do it. [NHL]
  • The Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks also went to overtime, where some result of the game happened.
  • Chicago meanwhile had a much easier time than their rivals, defeating the Arizona Coyotes 3-1. [Five For Howling]/

The Blackhawks have stopped skidding since their victory over Buffalo last Friday. Now they consistency:

Meanwhile the Predators have been simply oustanding since acquiring Kyle Turris, who has easily been the best player involved in that trade. [FanRag Sports]

The Blues may be the Stars’ rivals, but I never genuinely wish injuries upon other players. Get well soon, Jaden Schwartz:
