Happy Thursday, everyone, it’s almost the weekend! Fun fact: my laptop decided to move on to greener pastures yesterday, so I am doing this on my wife’s computer, which is A) very slow, and B) she needs to use as well. Just giving you my excuse as to why there isn’t an intro.
Stars Stuff
All was quiet on the Dallas Stars news front yesterday.
Sean Shapiro took a dive into how the salary cap might influence GM Jim Nill’s summer plans:

Around the League
Playoff update:
- It is decided! In the Stanley Cup Final, the Vegas Golden Knights will be taking on — the Washington Capitals?! In any other year besides this one, Washington making it back to the Cup Final would be by far the biggest storyline, but this year is different. Alexander Ovechkin got the ball rolling with a goal about a minute in and the Caps went on to smoke the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0 in Game 7 to advance. [NHL]
- This was quite a scrap:/
Kuznetsov gets jerseyed. Wilson gets even. 👊

Matt Larkin is dubious of the contract the San Jose Sharks gave to Evander Kane. He can definitely get a new phone now, at least:
Evander Kane’s about to become the NHL’s fifth-richest left winger. Over the past five seasons, 18 left wingers have more goals than him. My blog on why his reported new contract creates impossible expectations: https://t.co/hKxPI5E5Xn pic.twitter.com/0uklSnQlyI

If only everyone could have seen this coming when George McPhee was actually making the picks:
Possible to argue: Vegas could be better than some expansion teams.
Not possible to argue: Anybody saw this version coming.

Bill Barnwell compared the Golden Knights’ run to other unlikely championship finalists in the NFL, NBA, and MLB:
ICYMI: I wrote about where the Golden Knights rank in terms of unlikely finalists in modern American sports (spoiler: very high) https://t.co/HMvxUXVtDy
