The Stars have had pretty good amount of success at home this season. They have posted a 10-4-0 record at the AAC, along with ranking in the top-10 in both goals scored and goals allowed. It’s going to be very important for the Stars to keep up their good Texas play as they are locked in a close battle for a wild card spot and have some very hot teams coming to town:
The Capitals are 10-2-0 in their last 12 games and currently sit with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. The Stars swept the Blackhawks in a home-and-home series two-and-a-half weeks ago, but the Blackhawks have turned things around lately and are on a five-game winning streak. The Predators already have beaten the Stars twice this season and are 16-2-2 over their last 20 games and sit on top of the Western Conference
Along with playing in the friendly confines of their own arena, the Stars should benefit from the extra rest they will get over the next few weeks. They just finished a stretch of 11 games (8 on the road) in 19 days and now will play 10 (9 at home) in 26. John Klingberg is confident and succinct in his belief that the Stars will have a good run coming up:
“Yeah, it’s going to be a tough stretch, but we are going to be at home, so we should take advantage of it,” Klingberg said.

I think the Canucks must have walked under a ladder while simultaneously breaking a mirror and spilling some salt (without throwing some over their left shoulder) before the season started:

I wish the Jets weren’t in the Stars division/always beating the Stars because they really are a fun team to watch. Here’s how they got that way:

Hockey players with #GoodDogs – apparently a bunch of pomeranians were ceased by local law enforcement and the Vegas Golden Knights got to work trying to get 14 puppers adopted. Here’s Marc-Andre Fleury and a puppy (warning: cuteness overload):
