Dallas Stars Daily Links: Greasy Wins are Still Wins

Happy Saturday, folks! I’m going to keep it short and sweet for your Saturday pleasure:

The Stars couldn’t get much going through the first two periods last night, but they turned it on in the third again. The power play was 2-2, which was mildly surprising, given the state of the Stars’ powerplay and the Anaheim Ducks’ penalty kill as of late. Kari Lehtonen was extremely solid yet again, and the boys in victory green pulled off another late comeback.  Onward and upward it seems.

Ryan Getzlaf scored the only goal of the first period, sniping a late one blocker-side high on Kari Lehtonen:

The second period went scoreless. Then Devin Shore tied things up in the third after what should have been drawing a penalty to put the Stars on the job:

A few minutes later, Jamie Benn tipped in John Klinberg’s shot in what proved to be the game-winning goal. Quite the deft deflection:

Dallas didn’t look great for the whole game, but in fairness they were dealing with some injuries and lineup shuffling. It’s crunch time now, so here’s to the next two weeks on the road.
