Dallas Stars New Adidas Jerseys Leaked

With Reebok’s contract expiring with the NHL, each team around the league had the opportunity to make some tweaks to their jerseys as adidas comes on board to manufacture the NHL’s apparel moving forward.

The official reveal of all of the team’s jerseys are slated for sometime around 9 PM CST, but it appears as though all 31 teams’ looks have been leaked early.

From the little that we can see without the close up of the Dallas Stars’ jersey, there’s not much detail to breakdown. At first blush, it appears as though not a whole lot has changed in the Stars jersey design.  With the Nashville Predators jersey leaked earlier today and plenty of people feeling that it looked like a practice jersey with a logo slapped on it, I was a little bit concerned.

However, it seems as though most should be pleased with the adidas version of the Stars jersey.

They kept the laces at the neck, even if the raised collar is gone now. The stripes around the bottom of the jersey are the biggest change. It appears as though the bottom white stripe is narrower than the Reebok version. However, the striping on the sleeves looks the same and the logo appears to be relatively untouched. Though it looks as though instead of being outlined in silver the logo is now outlined in a darker grey.

It also appears as though the NHL draft hats have also leaked. And I really, really need one of these in my life. Look at that satiny glorious Victory Green color. ::insert heart eye emoji here::

Assuming these are the actual jerseys that are going to be released soon, Nashville got the short end of the stick, by far. It’s lost some of its character and is just kind of…blah.  The Edmonton Oilers probably have the most drastic change, as they decide to go full orange on their home jerseys. (Philadelphia Flyers did it better, in my opinion, Edmonton.)

The Minnesota Wild kept their logo but have decided to use green as their primary color, so Dallas no longer corners the market in that area. I surprisingly don’t hate the Vegas Golden Knights jersey, though not sure the purpose of the red in the design. I understand the need for an accent color, but feels forced to me. Not a bad first jersey though, and at least the first guys drafted in franchise history will actually have a jersey to put on (unlike in some drafts by expansion teams in the past…which is just peak NHL, isn’t it?)
