Video: Patrick Sharp Scores on Old Chicago Blackhawks Mates, Celebrates With Johnny Oduya

Tuesday night had to feel really, really good for Patrick Sharp.

Not only did the Dallas Stars right winger see his new team systemically dismantle his old team as the game went along – the defending Stanley Cup Champions, no less – but he scored the goal that broke the game open just 11 seconds into the third period, the second in what was a 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

And who was waiting for Sharp after a very emphatic celebration? None other than fellow addition from last season’s Blackhawks, defenseman Johnny Oduya.

The rest of the celebration, with Tyler Seguin, Jason Demers and a late-arriving Jamie Benn, is also very fun.

That was an incredibly fun moment for Sharp, who struggled last year with the Hawks and saw his stock drop drastically around the league as his team dumped him for salary cap reasons.

Through 35 games in Dallas, Sharp is fourth in the team in scoring with 12 goals and 27 points, more than halfway to what his non-injury marred pace would have been last season. At his current rate, he’s on pace for 28 gaols and 63 points.

Oduya also had a strong night, adding an assist on the final goal of the evening. He has 12 points this season, exceeding last season’s production by two points already.
