Video: Watch Dallas Stars Announce Patrick Sharp Trade Live At Party in the Park

The Stars trade for Patrick Sharp broke during Friday's fan event, and television pre-game host Josh Bogorad was the man with the news.

The Dallas Stars fans who got out to Friday's Party in the Park in downtown Dallas got a little more excitement than they bargained for.

During a portion of the evening where Stars television pre-game host Josh Bogorad was interviewing color man Daryl Reaugh and new play-by-play guy Dave Strader, a member of the Stars front office wandered up to pass on a teeny, tiny, inconsequential bit of information.

That, of course, was the news that Patrick Sharp had been traded to Dallas from the Chicago Blackhawks along with prospect Stephen Johns for Ryan Garbutt and Trevor Daley.

You can see the announcement as it was live below:

Where the news really broke on the internet was Periscope, where the Stars were streaming the program for the evening. As a Periscope novice, I can't guarantee how long this link will stay working, but here is the stream that includes the conversation leading up to the trade and the longer reaction to the trade itself.

The Stars also posted video from the rest of the evening, highlighted by the interaction with Razor and Strader.
