Video: Dallas Stars No-Goal vs. Penguins; Jamie Benn’s “Suck on That” Response Fuels Comeback Victory

The game didn’t start so well for the Dallas Stars, allowing two power plays goals to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first period and generally being completely dominated on the road for the first 20 minutes of the game. It was a bad beginning, but Stars coach Lindy Ruff shook up the lines a bit and the Stars climbed back into the game with a Antoine Roussel goal in the second period.

Trailing 2-1 and with just over three minutes remaining in regulation, Ruff then put his three best players on the ice together. Jason Spezza, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin forced a turnover and then sped up the ice and amid a furious play at the net appeared to have magically tied the game.

Except they didn’t. The goal was disallowed because of interference with the goalie. And yet…

..that seemed to have been a legal play. The officials determined otherwise and the goal was called off.

Lindy Ruff was furious.

Jamie Benn was pissed.

The Stars used the no-goal call to come out on fire, taking the fight right back to the Penguins and tying it just over a minute later.

It was a statement goal by the Dallas Stars captain, and their reaction shows just how much that meant to the team..

Razor said it best, as always.

Of course, that wasn’t even the biggest goal of the game.

The Stars would not only tie the game late, but completed the comeback victory with just over two seconds remaining thanks to this brilliant pass by Jason Spezza to Tyler Seguin.
