Video: Tyler Seguin Injured in Dangerous Hit by Dmitry Kulikov

The Dallas Stars lost Ales Hemsky in the first period against the Florida Panthers Friday night. They lost Patrick Eaves after a puck hit him in the head in the third.

And perhaps they also lost their chance at returning to the post-season- Thanks to Dmitry Kulikov.

The youngster went sliding dangerously low into Tyler Seguin’s legs late in the third period- And the league’s third leading scorer was unable to get up, favoring a knee, seemingly, and was in obvious pain. He was helped to the locker room immediately- And gingerly.

Kulikov was ejected and the Stars received a five-minute major power play.

It looks like an unspeakable loss for the Dallas Stars on the same night that Patrick Eaves appeared to sustain some kind of head injury, and Ales Hemsky left as well.

With Antoine Roussel already suspended for tomorrow’s game, Lindy Ruff is down four of his top 12 forwards in a division game against the Colorado Avalanche.

But it’s so much more than that, if Seguin is indeed out for any length of time. Stars fans were speechless at the AAC Friday night as all of this unfolded and silence took over the stands and the broadcast.

On the whole, I think they’d rather have given the Panthers the two points than suffer as they did for them- We’ll await word from the coaching staff on the severity of these injuries, but it will very likely be Monday morning before the full extent is made public with the team out of town Saturday and surely off on Monday.

What a bad night.
