Stargazing, A Dallas Stars Puckcast – Episode 304: Really Special Teams

Wes and Mark discuss a power play that’s hot, 5-on-5 play that’s not, Lian Bichsel’s big-boy growing pains, and so much more.

Good news! The Dallas Stars’ power play is every bit as dangerous as it looks. Now if only they could score at even strength….

There’s so little flexibility in the Victory Green lineup right now that it’s easy to hang all one’s hopes on the regular roster players who are surely coming back any day now. And however much false hope may trouble Wes and Mark, their take on the Stars’ status is…pretty optimistic, all things considered. In the latest edition of Stargazing, they discuss who will be the best partner for Lian Bichsel, whether Mavrik Bourque needs to move up a line, who we need to call to get Wyatt Johnston onto Team Canada, and so much, much more.

Just wait ’til everyone is healthy. Right? …Right? If you have a different take, then by all means share it in the comments. We’ll probably even mention you in a future cast. We’re Stargazing, and we say Miro solves everything. (Hey, prove us wrong.)

And please, give us a rate, review or share wherever you get your digital sound files. Thanks in advance. We love you all.

Well, the Dallas Stars exited the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs sooner than anyone wanted. It's going to be a long summer for all of us. What now? In this episode of Stargazing, Wes and Mark examined the takeaways from the Stars' all-too-short run. And along with the obvious issues (injuries, penalties, name it), they found some surprisingly positive evidence for the future (and you may or may not be surprised at how much of it probably ties into the promotion of Neil Graham). So are you rooting for the asteroid, or the giant truck? We're Stargazing, and we're keeping our options open. Bonus question: What will you look for in the next NHL Draft? Let's talk about it at Defending Big D. And please give us a rate, review, or share wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Stargazing. We love you. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
