As December ends, the Dallas Stars are in the second wild-card position. Wes and Mark discuss what we ought to think about it.

The Dallas Stars are still in the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs race, but they’re not ranked as highly as we all thought they would be. If that feels like a big fat lump of coal in your Christmas stocking, well, you’re probably a longtime Dallas Stars fan.

Wes and Mark make the case that we’re not seeing anything we didn’t expect from a team on a learning curve – which also happens to be a team with three rookies playing as starters. The Hot-Takery Bakery is wide open, so spend a bit of your pregame time with them, won’t you?

Chaos is just a doorway to opportunity. Or something. Let’s think on it over a little Stargazing. It’s brought to you by BetOnline.

What’s your biggest worry about the Stars’ stat sheet so far? Tell us about it in the comments. We’ll probably bring it up in a future cast. (No, really!)

One more thing: Please let us know you’re listening in the form of a like, review or share. Our New Year’s resolution is to appreciate you even more. Thanks for listening!

It sometimes seems as if the Dallas Stars are only permitted to have one player get hot at a time. But do you need Mikko Rantanen to score a hat trick every game when Mikael Granlund can go off in his stead? A lot has happened in the past five days, and Wes and Mark want to talk about all of it. In this edition of Stargazing, they examine the advantages of having two No. 1 defensemen, compare and contrast the return trajectories of Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen, and discuss the importance of playing within your structure – and what happens when an opposing team forces you out of it. When is a playoff penalty not a playoff penalty? And does it matter? Here at Stargazing, we ask the hard questions. (You're welcome.) Can the Stars close out Round 2 in Game 5, in enemy territory, against a Winnipeg Jets team that will throw everything that got them the 2025 President's Trophy onto the ice? Let's talk about at Defending Big D. And thanks in advance for your rate, review or share. We love you.
