ASG Skills Competition: Seguin Should Be Favorite to Win New Dude Perfect-Style Shooting Event

Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin will compete in the new Shooting Stars competition at the All-Star Game skills competition tonight in St. Louis. He’s also likely to be a shooter in the Save Streak event, where goalies try to make the most consecutive saves.

As described, the event will feature NHL players standing on a platform in the crowd and shooting pucks over the seating (and fans, presumably) in the lower bowl of the arena and trying to hit various targets on the ice.

If that sounds like a Dude Perfect video featuring Dallas Stars forwards Jamie Benn and Seguin, you wouldn’t be wrong.

In fact, the duo has done these kinds of shots twice with the Dallas-area trick shot team:

The All-Star skills competition will air at 7 PM CST tonight from St. Louis. You can catch the pre-game right now on NHL Network, and the skills competition itself will be broadcast on NBCSN when the event starts.

Another exciting event that should be fun to watch is the inclusion of a full 3-on-3 game between the U.S. Women All-Stars and the Canada Women All-Stars. The game will be a 10 minute running clock, with penalties resulting in an automatic penalty shot. A fan-voted All-Star from both teams will be competing against Seguin in the Shooting Stars event as well.
