Stars Make Player Moves As Team Searches For Answers

As the Dallas Stars continue to look for answers, the team made some changes to the NHL personnel. The team will play three games in the next four days, and after starting the season 1-5-1, they’re looking to change things up.

Nicholas Caamano and Joel L’Esperance were returned to the AHL. They had both been up with the club due to the Stars having three players injured on opening night. Rhett Gardner remains at the NHL level.

The move signals that Corey Perry is also on the cusp of return. The team indicated on Saturday that his return was being targeted for Friday night when the team took on the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, reports this afternoon indicate that he is a game-time decision for tomorrow’s game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets:

The other move made today was the recall of Denis Gurianov from the Texas Stars. Gurianov  scored a hat trick in the game immediately after being returned to the AHL last week. The young forward gives the Stars some speed and skill to insert into the lineup and provides Dallas with the option to juggle things on the forward lines in an effort to spark more offense.

That’s been one of the largest issues for the Stars this season so far. Dallas cancelled their second practice of the season today. Maybe just getting back to hockey tomorrow will help shake the funk the team has right now.
