Watching the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off? Need a place to talk about your favorite Dallas Stars, playing their hearts out for their home countries? Here’s your game-day thread for the entire event.

The tournament, which replaces the usual All-Star Break this year, marks a return to international best-on-best competition for the NHL. You can also consider it an appetizer for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy – when NHL players will return to Olympic competition for the first time since 2014 in Sochi, Russia.

Dallas Stars playing in the tournament include Jake Oettinger (USA) and Roope Hintz, Esa Lindell, and Mikael Granlund (Finland). Miro Heiskanen was named to the Finnish squad but will not play due to his recent knee surgery. Additionally, GM Jim Nill and coaches Pete DeBoer and Misha Donskov are on the management team for Canada.

According to NHL.com, each team will play three tournament games in round-robin format, under the following points system: 3 points for a win in regulation time; 2 points for a win in overtime/shootout; 1 point for a loss in overtime/shootout; and 0 points for a loss in regulation time.

The two teams with the best tournament record will then advance to a one-game final. Of course, there’s also a system in place to decide tiebreakers.
