Dallas Stars Daily Links: Momentum

We have a good team here in Dallas – we know that. Recent history has shown us again and again that this Stars team has a never-say-die attitude and competes among the best in the league. Despite this, we haven’t been able to get over the hump and bring another Stanley Cup home to the Big D. That’s why games like Saturday’s, against the high-flying Jets can be so frustrating. Maybe the boys in Victory Green were feeling that too, because they got all over the Penguins Monday night to the tune of 6 goals in the first period. Perhaps that spurs on something we like to call…momentum.

It was the kind of performance this edition of the Stars needed, as recent losses against Florida and Winnipeg have provided plenty of frustration. Dallas generated a ton of scoring chances over the past few games, but few of those shots found the net. On Monday, everything seemed to go in.

“We haven’t had one of those games all year, we had some bounces and some seeing-eye goals,” DeBoer said. “We had some guys who really needed a goal, so that was much needed.”

It’s true, the Stars needed that. Let’s get another one tomorrow!

Let’s talk about that big game, shall we?

Pile it on Mush!

Speaking of needing some momentum…this is a great step in that direction.

Around the Central

Only a couple divisional games on tap tonight.

  • The Avalanche take on the Kings at home tonight after their overtime win against the Preds on Monday. [LINK]
  • Utah Hockey Club gets the Canes tonight after a tough round of games against the division. [LINK]

Elsewhere in the NHL

That guy in Winnipeg is pretty good.

Pretty nice tribute from the Blackhawks for Jeremy Roenick. Doubtless we’ll have one just like this for Benn when his time rolls around.

Or maybe like this…

Finally

What a great tribute to the Gaudreau brothers at the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
